20th Annual Dickens Christmas - December 7, 2013
The Dickens Christmas Festival is held annually in historic downtown Mt. Pleasant, taking place the first Saturday in December. Come and wander the streets of downtown Mt.Pleasant as the glow of holiday lights settles upon the city with the scent of pine boughs, roasted almonds, and kettle-corn floating in the air and the sound of carolers and holiday merrymakers accompanying your stroll.
Have breakfast with Santa, take a hayride to see the Christmas lights, bring the kid’s to one of the “make and take” crafts, check out the beautiful Festival of Trees, listen to the sounds of the season with carolers and local musicians, and end the night by watching the Lighted Christmas Parade!
Food and entertainment will fill the area with sights and smells that take you back to another era.
Stop by Santa’s House, give him your wish list and visit with his live reindeer. Enjoy hot chocolate while stopping by one of the many warming stations. Whether it be the Lighted Christmas Parade, a pancake breakfast, crafts at the library, music at local businesses, or strolling through boutiques in downtown Mt. Pleasant, there is something for people of all ages to do.
Step back in time and enjoy the holidays the old-fashioned way at downtown Mt. Pleasant’s Dickens Christmas Festival. This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 with the much anticipated Lighted Christmas Parade starting at 6pm on Saturday to end the wonderful event.
