Downtown Mt. Pleasant

Downtown Mt. Pleasant boasts over 135 businesses that include remarkable specialty shops, art galleries, excellent and eclectic dining establishments, bars and bistros; you'll find "big city" amenities with small-town service and charm.

Downtown Mt. Pleasant is centrally located just a few blocks north of Central Michigan University's campus and 3 1/2 miles directly west of the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort. It also borders the picturesque Chippewa River, and two of Mt. Pleasants most scenic parks, Island Park and Nelson Park, offering a local trail system with a variety of nature trails and cycling paths.

Downtown is host to many local events and is the gathering place for Mt. Pleasant residents and visitors alike.  From the summer Farmer's Markets every Thursday and Saturday to sidewalk sales, Ladies Night Out, and the annual Dickens Christmas Festival. There's something for everyone.

Downtown is host to many local events from the Farmer's Markets every Thursday and Saturday in the summers to the annual Le Tour de Mont Pleasant professional bike race. 

Every summer brings the Mt. Pleasant Street Festival which includes sidewalk sales, arts and crafts, sidewalk chalk art PLUS a giant sand castle.  In November, downtown is host to Ladies Night Out on deer widows weekend offering sales and goodies to kick off the holiday shopping season. 

The year closes with the annual Dickens Christmas Festival including pancakes with Santa and his reindeer, carolers and musicians playing throughout downtown, and a lighted Christmas parade.  There's something for everyone.
