The Fiber Arts Network of Michigan (FAN) is a group of artists interested in fiber arts in its multitude of forms: baskets, beads, clothing, dolls, felting, hand-dyeing, knitting/crochet, paper, quilting, spinning, stitchery, surface design, weaving and 3D mixed media. This exhibition provides the CMU community with an opportunity to experience their explorations and showcase members’ works.

Younce Guitar Duo is a unique father and son instrumental collaboration creating intricate, flowing & rhythmic sonic weavings inspired by Latin, Jazz and World Music. A duo since 2009, Jerry and Ryan’s have been astounding audiences across the midwest with their exquisite original compositions and superb musicianship. They will be performing new original compositions as well as Jazz standards.

62nd Annual Mt. Pleasant Lions Club Chicken BBQ takes place at Island Park. Enjoy barbecued chicken and all of your favorite sides! Proceeds support local residents with vision, hearing and speech needs, as well as local school, Christmas Outreach, Toys for Tots, United Way, Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, Opening Eyes Program at Michigan Special Olympics and Isabella County Restoration House needs. Additionally, proceeds support Lions Club International projects: Kid Sight Screening, measles vaccinations in 3rd world countries, Leader Dog for the Blind, recycled eye glasses, Michigan Eye Bank, Diabetes Awareness, and many more projects.

Returning for year number 6 is the annual Parker Rallies Hope Silent Auction to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF). Annually we have had 50+ items to bid on throughout the weekend at our host venue, Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant! Come down, place your bid for an amazing cause and catch a movie afterwards!
The Second Friday monthly event is a collaborative effort with Helios Art Gallery in Downtown Mt. Pleasant. Both galleries will remain open until 8:00 p.m. on the second Friday of each month and will provide light refreshments for their guests to enjoy as they view art exhibits.
The 5k run/walk for the Mamas is a fundraiser event for the Mt. Pleasant Community Church’s mission trip to South Africa. Mamas are the women of Madutte and other surrounding villages. Register today for this fun run for a good cause!
