50 Days of Winter
Jan. 6– Head to the Isabella County Fairgrounds for the No Bull Triple Crown Snowmobile races happening today and tomorrow. Enjoy indoor seating, vendors, kid’s activities, and more! Today is also opening day for campground reservations, it’s never too early to plan a vacation.
Jan. 7– Bring the Lego lover in your life to the kickoff party for the Jimmy John’s Lego Building Competition at Veteran’s Memorial Library from 12:30- 2 p.m. You can also see the No Bull Triple Crown Snowmobile races today. They will return again at the end of January and twice in February!
Jan. 9– Take a break and have a bite to eat at this Mt. Pleasant favorite- The Malt Shop.
Jan. 11– Mt. Pleasant is home to four local breweries. Spend today checking out their hand-crafted brews and enjoying a delicious dinner.
Jan. 12– Keep your golf game strong this winter by practicing at Bucks Run’s virtual golf. Call for reservations.
Jan. 13– Mt. Pleasant is home to a beautiful and historical Downtown, hit the streets for some shopping, stop by a local bar for a drink, or grab dinner at a locally owned restaurant.
Jan. 14– The circus is in town today! Head to Finch Fieldhouse from 12-2 p.m. for Under the Big Top. See unicyclists, jugglers and balancing and spinning acts, carnival games and more! You can also join the Chippewa Watershed Conservancy for their “Under the Wolf Moon” cross country evening skiing from 7-9 p.m. at Sylvan Solace.
Jan. 15– Cheer on the CMU wrestling team as they face off against Northern Iowa at McGuirk Arena starting at 2 p.m.
Jan. 17– Treat yourself to a snow day! Grab your sled and head to Mission Creek Woodland Park for a day of sledding and snowy fun.
Jan. 18– Enjoy two dinner entrees and a bottle of wine for $40 every Wednesday at Fireside Grille.
Jan. 19– No Bull Triple Crown Snowmobile Races return for their second round today through Saturday at the Isabella County Fairgrounds.
Jan. 20– Have some fun for a great cause during the 6 p.m. Martin Luther King Jr. charity basketball game at the Student Activity Center, then head to McGuirk Arena at 7 p.m. to see CMU’s gymnastics team compete against Eastern Michigan.
Jan. 22– Get your running shoes on for the Snowman half marathon, 10K, and 5K today as a part of the Winter Warriors Race Series, starting at 9 a.m. Tonight is also the annual Daddy Daughter Date Night, so grab your special girl and head to Comfort Inn and Suites at 2 p.m. or 6 p.m. Please register in advance.
Jan. 24– Head to Riverwood Resort for a day of bowling fun.
Jan. 27– See Mike Tyson live at Soaring Eagle Casino.
Jan. 28– Come to the NOLA 26th Annual Night of Louisiana in CMU’s John G. Kulhavi Events Center Atrium. Enjoy a night of authentic food, live zydeco and Cajun music, cash bar and dance floor. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased at Ticket Central. You can also bring the kids to Island Park for a Snowman Building Contest starting at 11 a.m., judging will begin at 3 p.m. The snowmen will then be used as obstacles for the Man vs. Mountain Winter 5K on February 4.
Jan. 29– Enjoy the CFX Sunday Movie Special and see this week’s featured movie for only $4.95, add pop and popcorn for just $5.50.
Jan. 30– Visit Art Reach Center of Mid Michigan in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for some handmade art and Michigan made products.
Jan. 31– Warm up at Pleasant City Coffee with some coffee or hot chocolate.
Feb. 1– Cheer on CMU’s women’s basketball team as they take on Ohio at McGuirk Arena at 6 p.m.
Feb. 2– Come see some of the greatest women’s billiard stars at the WPBA 2016 Masters, hosted at the Soaring Eagle Casino.
Feb. 3– Make dinner easy tonight by trying a delicious, homemade Take-and-Bake from Adelaide’s at the Ginkgo Tree Inn or stay and enjoy their unique dinner menu.
Feb. 4– Face the elements today during the Man vs. Mountain Winter 5K, which starts in Nelson Park at 9 a.m.! You can also grab your dancing shoes and head to United Way’s 15-hour “DanceFest” Dance Marathon fundraiser at the Student Activity Center.
Feb. 5– Keep the kids active during the winter by bouncing over to The Jump Station for a day of active fun!
Feb. 6– Looking to try something new? Head to Veteran’s Memorial Library for the Glass Etching 101 adult program from 6-7 p.m.
Feb. 7– Hit the trails at some of the local county parks for cross country skiing.
Feb. 8– See CMU University Theatre’s performance of Pericles at Bush Theater at 7:30 p.m.
Feb. 9– No Bull Snowmobile Races return again! Head to the Isabella County Fairgrounds to catch the races today through the 11th.
Feb. 10– Celebrate that special someone in your life at Bucks Run’s Valentines Sweetheart Special dinner tonight or tomorrow night. Accepting reservations now.
Feb. 11– There’s tons of fun happening in Mt. Pleasant today! Kids have cabin fever? Join My104.3 and Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation at Finch Fieldhouse from 1-3 p.m. for the Winter Kids Expo. The kids can enjoy fun games, prizes, and more. The Chippewa Watershed Conservancy will also be snowshoeing Bundy Hill from 2-4 p.m. You can also attend Sacred Heart Academy’s annual SHAgala fundraising event or see the last of the No Bull Triple Crown Snowmobile Races!
Feb. 12– Enjoy a film at Park Library or Celebration Cinema as a part of the Central Michigan International Film Festival.
Feb. 14– Happy Valentine’s Day, have a date night at Camille’s on the River.
Feb. 15– Get out and get active at Snow Snake where you can ski, snowboard, or tube the mountain!
Feb. 16– Take the kids to the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum for Kids at Art with Renee from 10-11 a.m.
Feb. 17– You could be a lucky winner at Soaring Eagle Casino during The Price is Right Live Stage Show today at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.!
Feb. 18– Join the Mt. Pleasant Rotary club for their annual Beef Dinner at Comfort Inn and Suites. You can also take the Polar Plunge in Okelly’s Sports Bar parking lot to help raise money for Special Olympics Michigan.
Feb. 19– This weekend is a free fishing weekend in Michigan! It’s also the second Winter Warriors Race, which will take place at Okelly’s Sports Bar starting at 9 a.m.
Feb. 20– Learn about the local Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s heritage and culture by touring the Ziibiwing Cultural Center.
Feb. 21– Get creative and paint ceramics at The Painted Turtle in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.
Feb. 22– Try your luck on the gaming floor at Soaring Eagle Casino.
