100 Days of Fall

Sept. 5 – Stop by Ponder Coffee Company’s new second location “Central” near CMU’s campus. Celebration! Cinema is kicking off the first Fall 2018 Founders Film Series™ showing of The Sandlot paired with a hand-picked Founders beer.

Sept. 6 – Celebrate #ReadABookDay at Hall of Heroes LLC.’s new location in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

Sept. 7 – Mountain Town Station hosts Kindred Vines Import Garden Dinner. Enjoy a 3-course dinner paired with selected wine, hosted by Kindred Vines Import Co. 

Sept. 8 – Cheer on Chippewa Football at Kelly/Shorts Stadium for the home opener against Kansas. Jedi Mind Trip performs at 12:30 p.m. in Tailgate Village.

Sept. 9 – Volunteer at the new William Strickler Nonprofit Center or H.A.T.S.

Sept. 10 – Shop fall apparel at Le Fleur Boutique and Trillium Fine Clothing in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

Sept. 11 – Tuesday is Taco & Tequila Night at Mountain Town Station! Enjoy delicious eats and drinks with friends at MTS.

Sept. 12 – Shop, dine and explore Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

Sept. 13 –. Bring the kids to the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum for Kids at Art, a free, fun paint class.  

Sept. 14 – Laugh, cry and laugh some more at the final Soaring Eagle Casino outdoor show, Amy Schumer (tickets required). Light up the park at the Glow in the Park 5k in Mt. Pleasant.

Sept. 15 – Hot rods? Check! Airplanes? Check! Food Trucks, coffee and doughnuts? Check, check, check! Get ready for a fun day at Wings & Wheels hosted at the Mt. Pleasant Municipal Airport. It’s also Kid’s & Culture day at Ziibiwing Cultural Center, which is a free event full of learning, culture and fun!

Sept. 16 – Cheer on CMU Women’s Soccer as the team takes on UIC.

Sept. 17 – Looking for new items to spruce up your home? Stop by NEW Shutters & Chandeliers in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for stylish home decor & accessories.

Sept. 18 – Cheer on CMU Women’s Field Hockey as the team takes on Michigan State.

Sept. 19 – Treat yourself to dirt dessert, arctic swirls, splits – you name it, Doozies Ice Cream Place has it! Later, check out Founders Film Series™ showing of Whiplash paired with a hand-picked Founders beer for only $2 at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant.

Sept. 20 – Got pipes? Let’s see what you got at Rubbles Bar Thursday Night Karaoke; cheap drinks, free entertainment and one of the largest song selections in town.

Sept. 21 – Come out to the Isabella County Fairgrounds to walk for a cause at the annual Into the Light Cancer Walk. Love mystery? Murder Mystery Dinner: A Dance with Death will be performed by the Murder Mystery Company at Soaring Eagle TONIGHT (tickets required).

Sept. 22 – Happy Autumn! Kick it off with Zonta Applefest, an autumn-inspired celebration with fruit-filled games, crafts, cider, doughnuts, dumplings and more at Papa’s Pumpkin Patch. Chippewa Football takes on Maine at Kelly/Shorts Stadium and Grand Rapid’s Legal Immigrants performs at Tailgate Village prior to kickoff (free and open to the public)! The Ginkgo Tree Inn is celebrating fall at Harvest Buffet with delicious food and live music from Barney Betka. 

Sept. 23 – Bike the NEW trail connecting the communities of Mt. Pleasant and Shepherd.

Sept. 24 – Celebrate #NationalFamilyDay with with ice cream and putt-putt at The Golf Center.  

Sept. 25 – Head to CMU Bookstore for your maroon and gold, homecoming attire. Fire Up Chips! 

Sept. 26 – Take part in the Fall Mushroom Hunt at Deerfield Nature Park (registration required). Founders Film Series™ continues with the showing of Dazed and Confused, paired with a hand-picked Founders beer at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant. For only $2? All right, all right, all righttt!

Sept. 27 – Happy World Tourism Day! Act like a tourist in your own town by exploring parks, dining out, trying a new local hot spot. The Red Hat Strutters dance troupe will be performing for the last time! Power Divas return to the Broadway Theatre in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for a drag show performance!

Sept. 28 – Celebrate Worldwide Day of Play at Morey Courts with games, giveaways, food trucks, DJ Dill Pickle, vendors and more! Plus, it’s FREE! Celebrate Sacred Heart Academy’s homecoming with a parade in Downtown Mt. Pleasant and by cheering the team on later at the game!

Sept. 29 – There’s plenty to do on this beautiful, fall Saturday! Experience the Pleasant Town Music & Art Festival at Centennial Hall in Downtown Mt. Pleasant (tickets required), explore a variety of antique vendors at the 7th annual Fall Antique Market in Blanchard, and/or see Cheap Trick and Eric Paslay perform at Bourbon & Bacon at Soaring Eagle Casino (tickets required). Enjoy the peacefulness of nature at the 11th annual Art From Our Park event at Deerfield Nature Park. Start with weekend right with a cup of joe from a local coffee shop #NationalCoffeeDay.

Sept. 30 – We like Sundays a waffle lot! Enjoy unique waffles, delicious coffee and tea blends at Ponder Coffee Company’s “Waffle Sunday” at both the Downtown and Central locations.

Oct. 1 –  The MPACVB is also kicking off its annual Feels Like Fall photo contest! For the next four weeks, simply tag @MtPleasantCVB and use #FeelsLikeFall to enter your local, fall photos!

Oct. 2 – Enjoy lunch or dinner on the patio/porch at some of Mt. Pleasant local hot spots: Ponder Coffee Company, Mountain Town Station, Adelaide’s Bistro, Max & Emily’s Eatery, Midori Sushi & Martini Lounge and Hunter’s Ale House.

Oct. 3 – So much to do! The annual Friends of the Library book sale begins today (10/3-10/6). Get creative with a paint and pour class with Brush with Bravata at The Italian Oven in Mt. Pleasant. Oct. 4 – Celebrate #NationalTacoDay at Los Aztecas, Los Palominos or Los Amigos in Mt. Pleasant – taco ‘bout options! See Rascal Flatts perform in Soaring Eagle’s newly renovated Entertainment Hall (tickets required).

Oct. 5 – WARNING: Funk Takeover in progress! Get hype for CMU Homecoming at Rubbles Bar with Melophobix. Friends of the Broadway Presents: Bedlam at the Broadway – A series of one-act plays featuring campfire tales, zombies, the Grim Reaper and more October 5-6 & 12-13 at 7 p.m., and October 7 at 2 p.m.

Oct. 6 – It’s CMU Homecoming! In the morning, run to raise money for Special Olympics Michigan athletes at the CMU Homecoming 5k Walk/Run. After, enjoy the homecoming parade, pre-game Tailgate Village performance by Jedi Mind Trip and then cheer on the Chippewas at Kelly/Shorts Stadium.

Oct. 7 – It’s a good day to get active! Hit the fairways at a local golf course or head up to Snow Snake in Harrison for a fall, zip line tour.

Oct. 8 – The Morey Family Gallery hosts a Sheri Moore gallery show. Stop in to see beautiful works of art all month long at Art Reach of Mid Michigan.

Oct. 9 – Stop by Mt. Pleasant’s famous drive-in restaurant Jon’s Country Burgers for amazing burgers, homemade onion rings and great service.

Oct. 10 – Enjoy the cool, fall weather at Island Park. Toss the football, play a game of horseshoes and grill out with family and friends.

Oct. 11 – Take a “virtual voyage” around the globe with Fireside Grille & Pub’s five course Thursday Night International Menu at Maple Creek Golf Club.

Oct. 12 – Explore over 1,000 acres of #puremichiganscenicroute at City and Isabella County Parks. See Little River Band and Air Supply perform at Soaring Eagle Casino (tickets required). It’s homecoming at MPHS! See the parade in Downtown Mt. Pleasant and attend the game! Today kicks off Mid Michigan Community College’s Zombie Escape Room, don’t miss your chance to get spooked!

Oct. 13 – Wow! There’s lots to do today! Cheer on Chippewa Football at Kelly/Shorts Stadium, shop ‘til you drop at the Mid Market Craft Vendor Fair at Mid Michigan College in Mt. Pleasant and help raise money for the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum at the annual Music for the Museum featuring The Go Rounds at Gray’s Furniture.

Oct. 14 – Take a fall color tour via the Chippewa River by kayak or canoe.

Oct. 15 –  Try signature sandwiches, hand tossed pizza and unique Michigan Made products at Mitchell’s Gourmet Deli in Shepherd and its NEW location in Mt. Pleasant.

Oct. 16 – It’s a par-fect day for some friendly competition! Grab some pals for disc golf at Deerfield Nature Park courses or CMU Campus Course.

Oct. 17 – Ready… set… let’s kick it! Riverwood/Nine Eight Nine offers a dynamic combo of your favorite sports! Soccer + golf = Footgolf! Later, chicka chicka check out the Founders Film Series™ showing of Superbad, paired with a hand-picked Founders beer for only $2 at Celebration! Cinema Mt. Pleasant.

Oct. 18 – Network at the Chamber of Commerce’s Business and Community Expo at Comfort Inn and Suites Hotel and Conference Center. Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to the Broadway Theatre, with shows at 8 p.m. and midnight; come dressed in costume, as there will be a costume contest each showing! 

Oct. 19 – Do you love rock n’ roll? See Joan Jett & The Blackhearts and Night Ranger perform at Soaring Eagle Casino (tickets required). Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to the Broadway Theatre, with shows at 8 p.m. and midnight; come dressed in costume, as there will be a costume contest each showing! 

Oct. 20 – There’s a little something for everyone today. Families, head to Art Reach for Kids & Culture. Chippewas, cheer on your football team as it takes on rival Western Michigan University. Friends, celebrate fall at the Fall Festival in Blanchard. Rocky Horror Picture Show returns to the Broadway Theatre, with shows at 8 p.m. and midnight; come dressed in costume, as there will be a costume contest each showing! 

Oct. 21 – Plan a fall hike at one of Chippewa Watershed Conservancy Nature Preserves.
