Jan. 3- Head to McGuirk Arena to cheer on CMU Women’s Basketball as the team faces off against Ohio.

Jan. 4- Kick-off the weekend with drinks and karaoke at The Cabin.

Jan. 5- Get ready for a gnarly evening at the Family Date Night: 80s Dance Party from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Library Annex. Registration required. Now through January 29, visit The Morey Family Gallery to see the Sam Soet Wooden Objects Exhibit

Jan. 6- Come see some of the greatest women’s billiard stars at the WPBA 2018 Grand Slam Event, hosted by Soaring Eagle Casino.

Jan. 7- See a live science demonstration at Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum’s Science Sunday.

Jan. 8- Welcome back CMU students! Celebrate the start to a new semester with new CMU apparel and swag from the Bookstore on campus.

Jan. 9- Did you make a New Year’s resolution to be more active in 2018? Get started at the Student Activity Center.

Jan. 10- Sacred Heart Academy Girls Varsity Basketball takes on Ashley High School at 7:30 p.m.

Jan. 11- Grab a friend and your favorite beverage for a Paint and Pour session with Megan Bair at The Painted Turtle. Registration required Price depends on size of canvas.

Jan. 12- Cheer on the Mt. Pleasant High School Boys Basketball team at its rivalry game against Midland High School at MPHS.

Jan. 13- Don’t let the snow keep you from practicing your swing – practice at Bucks Run Virtual Golf on Remus Road.

Jan. 14- Bring some snacks to Sunday Cinema at the Chippewa River District Library for the showing of Everything, Everything at 1 p.m.

Jan. 15- Today we celebrate the life and work for Martin Luther King Jr., with a Peace Vigil beginning at CMU to Town Center in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

Jan. 16- Make a splash with a day pass at Soaring Eagle Water Park.

Jan. 17- Love the world of comics and pop culture? Learn how to create comic and movie storyboards at Comic Book and Storyboarding, three-week class at Art Reach Center.

Jan. 18- CMU School of Music presents guest artist Antonello Farulli, one of the most active Italian violists both in playing and teaching, in the Staples Family Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $5 for the public and $3 for students/seniors.

Jan. 19- Visit Stan’s in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for a delicious breakfast.

Jan. 20- There’s lots to do today in Mt. Pleasant! Stop by Art Reach Center for the first Kids and Culture (free) event of 2018, check out the annual Under the Big Top (free) family event at Finch Fieldhouse and see comedian Gabriel Iglesias LIVE at Soaring Eagle Casino (SOLD OUT). 

Jan. 21- Grab your bleacher seat for a CMU Wrestling match against Buffalo in McGuirk Arena. Celebrate special relationships and cherished memories at the annual Daddy-Daughter Date Night at Comfort Inn & Suites Conference Center. Cost $30 in advance, $40 at the door. 

Jan. 22- Today kicks off the first Central Talks at CMURC with Marcy Mathews and Dr. Jeff Hoyle at 5:30 p.m., with light refreshments available at 5 p.m.

Jan. 23- Show off your maroon and gold at CMU Men’s Basketball vs. Miami (OH) in McGuirk Arena.

Jan. 24- Get creative in the company of friends at an easy, step-by-step Brush With Bravata painting class at The Italian Oven. Must pre-register on Brush With Bravata Facebook event page.

Jan. 25- Grab Lunch from the Downtown Drugs Soda Shoppe in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

Jan. 26- Strap on your boots and head to Soaring Eagle Casino for a live performance from country-star Jake Owen. If you’re in the mood for funk fusion mixed with progressive and alternative rock, head to Rubble’s Bar for a live performance from Chirp, Pining and Pineapple Psychology at 10 p.m.

Jan. 27- Bundle up for a day of sledding at Mission Creek Woodland Park.

Jan. 28- Skip the Sunday blues and head to Blue Gator Sports Pub & Grill ALL DAY deals, including $15 Mega Mary’s with $5 Refill, $3 Mimosas, $4 Champagne and $5 Bud Light Pitchers.

Feb. 28- Learn about the history of logging in Michigan with Mike LeValley, Chippewa Watershed Conservancy board member and Isabella Conservation District environmental educator, at the Chippewa River District Library.

March 1- Check out the Annual Juried CMU Student Art Exhibition happening now through March 24 at the University Art Gallery on CMU’s campus.  TLC “Long Island Medium” star Theresa Caputo is in Mt. Pleasant for her first LIVE show at Soaring Eagle Casino.

March 2- Looking for a fun-filled Friday night with the family? Family Fun Night at Morey Courts for some old fashion recreational fun for the whole family! TLC “Long Island Medium” star Theresa Caputo is at Soaring Eagle Casino tonight (SOLD OUT)!

March 3- It’s the last weekend to see the Mount Pleasant High School Musical: Catch Me If You Can in the MPHS Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $10.

March 4 – Need a little time to relax before the work week? Paint your own pottery at The Painted Turtle in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.
